The Letters from Roscoe – God Knows

God Knows

God knows what is going on even when we don’t have a clue.  Yesterday, I was shopping at Gordon Food Service to support the Wednesday Night Suppers and the Gospel Project ministries.  Sherry Burger had given me a list of the supplies she needed and I figured I would go ahead and purchase what I would need for the next week’s Wednesday Night Supper on March 27th; Pinto Beans, Smoked Sausage, Cornbread and Cole Slaw.

I was able to get Sherry’s entire list without issue.  So I started working on mine.

Would you believe there was not one Pinto Bean to be found in that store?  Nor was there any Smoked Sausage.  ‘No worries!’ I thought, I had to go to Ingles anyway so I figured I’d get what I needed there.  But I didn’t get to Ingles that afternoon.  I ran out of time.  I had a Doctor’s Appointment that afternoon to review the results of an MRI I had completed the previous week and wouldn’t you know it (I (Dr. Tipton) was already pretty sure myself) I needed to have surgery on my Shoulder.

So as I was speaking with the Surgery Scheduler she revealed that there had been a cancellation for the 27th and a slot was open much sooner than if I was to wait for a later date.  So I agreed to take the slot for next week.  Get her done!!! They say…

So have you connected the dots yet?  Did you find the God Wink?

God knew I was going to be having surgery next week before I did, so He removed the Pinto Beans and the Smoked Sausage.  No need spending money for a dinner that’s not going to happen so God took care of it.

I also think it was His way of answering a little prayer I had made earlier in the day.  I had asked God (Rather, I told him.) that it sure would be nice to hear his voice in a way that I would KNOW that it was Him speaking to me and not my own voice.

So He did this for me in answer to that prayer.  Oh ME of little faith . . .

Thank you Father for hearing the prayers of someone as undeserving as me.  Thank you for accepting me as I am with as little faith as I have at times.  Thank you Jesus for dying on the cross so that I could approach the Throne and the Father with my petitions!  How great thou art!

Amen!

Sincerely,
Roscoe, A Christian in Training
