Do You Look for God?
I asked a friend the other day to help take care of the web site for me while Cindy and I travel next month. As I was teaching him how to post the Daily Bible Verse in WordPress, I was explaining to him that when I go to find the image to go with the day’s verse I just type the book, chapter and verse into Google and then look at the Image page.
The one God wants me to use will be in the upper left (That’s position # 1 for us slow pokes!) You see I used to scan through image after image looking for what I thought was the best one for that verse. This process often took several minutes each day. One day as I was beginning my search, I thought to myself, “Self, why don’t you just trust God to put the right image in position 1 and use it?”
So I did, I mean I do. Whatever image I am in need of, I believe God puts the one he wants right there in position # 1 and that’s the one I use.
Sometimes, it doesn’t exactly match the verse I was looking up, sometimes instead of one verse, its two or three verses. So what do I do then? I go back and change the Verse of the Day to what God wants. If he wants you to hear two verses instead of just the one then that’s what is going to happen. So when you’re listening to K-LUV and they read off today’s Bible verse (both K-LUV and HPBC use the Daily Bible Verse from Bible.com) and it lists a single verse; but then you see the Facebook post from the Church and it shows two verses, now you’ll know:
God wasn’t happy with the condensed version he wanted to make sure you got the full story!
I do this kind of thing with a lot of things that happen in my life. If something good happens to me, I just kind of look up and say “Was that you God?” and just give him the glory!
If it wasn’t something good, I still sit back and think things through and look for all the possible ways that God could have made it fall out that way. I can almost always see some trace of God’s handiwork in everything.
So let me ask you.

Today I had a MRI and I decided instead of panicking I would use that time for thanking God, sharing all my prayer requests and asking the Holy Spirit to lead me this week. Before I knew it the MRI was over. What s wonderful time of worship I had.
