Verse of the Day (Page 241)

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go:  I will guide thee with mine eye.

Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought of your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on.  Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?  Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather in barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them.  Are ye not much better than they?  

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.  This is the first and great commandment.

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:  Casting all your care upon him; for He careth for you.  

For with God nothing shall be impossible.

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;  Knowing that of the Lord, ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance:  for ye serve the Lord Christ.

²² It is of the Lord’s Mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. ²³ They are new every morning:  great is thy faithfulness.

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein:  for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

¹² For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers:  but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.  ¹³ And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?

³¹ Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you with all malice: ³² And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
