And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it.

If my people, which are called by name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask of him.

Open rebuke is better than secret love.

If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
