Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and has professed a good profession before many witnesses.

O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.

But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to the Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe.

And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and b ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
